Its about time we did something about funerals.
The industry is ripe for disruption. The model is broken, inefficient and needs an overhaul.
The entrenched ceremony at a funeral home, morose pomp and deflated grandeur does nothing to truly celebrate your life and that of someone you love.
Except, it keeps an antiquated industry afloat, whilst we all follow suit and submit to the experience – succumbing to what has always been and what we are told must be, at a particularly difficult time.
And what say does the user – the person who has passed – have about the experience? You die and the funeral industry and everyone else decides what goes on and where.
How about you have the chance to determine how your life is celebrated when you pass?
This could mean you determine the venue if at all, enable people to be there digitally from wherever they may be, deliver a pre-prepared message to all loved ones and unique message for individuals and decide on everything from the process and music to where you finally rest.
Now that would be a truly appropriate celebration fit for you.
The age of customization is here. You can build you own pizza, trainers and house so how about you create your own funeral?
Give it some thought, but not for too long and be sure to plan ahead – but do it before you’re dead.
